Hi All.
Heres one of my latest aquisitions.
Its a Russian 1ww Lichin Grenade. Very similar to the british No1 and i could well have been the grenade that influenced its design.
The wood handle is a repro and should have a tail of some sort to help stabilize its flight. Very simple to use. twist the cover to remove it, then turn the top cap into the firing position and throw. It would have exploded on impact
Anyone know what these tails were made from?
Cheers, Paul.

I just found a reference to this grenade in a small manual dated 1917 that states "devised by Captain Lischin in 1904 and used by the Russians in the battle of Mukden. It was charged with dry guncotton and a 1 gramme detonator.
