Leather charge containers

Hi

Does anyone knowledgeable or can recommend a good reference on leather cylindrical charge containers - clarkson's cases? - used to carry powder charges from the ship's magazine to the guns in the 1800s. Specifically one just over 6-inches in diameter and about 26 inches long. This is a new artefact at the Cdn War Museum and I am trying to tie it down a bit. I can take pictures next week.
