Lifebuoy flamethrower fuel tank?

Hi,


Last weekend I found this thing.
It made me think of the fuel tank of a Lifebuoy flamethrower.
Can someone confirm my thoughts or tell me what it actually is?

If it were for a flamethrower, it would be the pressure bottle for the gas that propels the fuel.
 
Looks to be about the right size for the high pressure sphere of the M9A1-7.
