Not always the Japanese Navy batch - it was also used by the Royal Navy for the 2.1/2-pdr gun. Look at the head-stamps! Depotman

EOC is Elswick Ordnance Company.
I don’t think this one is Japanese as I cannot see any Japanese markings.

EDIT: I’ve just seen your photos on Facebook, the photos look clearer, they are Japanese marked. 九日
