M.S.F Makers mark on 3.7" Howr case

I have a 3.7" Howitzer case made in 1943 which has the maker's mark "M.S.F". Is this Footscray, Australia?

I would hazard a guess at;

Maritime Steel and Foundries Ltd.
Glasgow Street
New Glasgow
Canada.

However, as far as I can ascertain, they only dealt in ferrous products.

Could it be made in India?

The case has an "I" underneath a broad arrow on it.
