M17 stenciling

Hello, I can not remember where I saw a post last night about using a printer for the letters on an M17 rifle grenade. Someone was saying that the lettering should have been white on the practice variant, but as printers don't print white, had to do it in black.
Whoever it was I have had a thought. Can you not change the background colour of microsoft word to black, then type the text in white? The printer will then print the page black leaving to letters the same colour as the paper (white). Just a thought.
