Hi Rick, That is one cool egg. The finish and patina with the all important phat assed grip ring lugs are awesome. Topped off with that mle1915 zinc-alloy igniter it is just simply a "classic". I'm serious, that one gets 2 nipples up....Dano

side embossed HEH m1917 egg

Here is a pic of an m1917 German egg grenade embossed HEH. The HEH embossing in itself is not uncommon, in fact probably one of the first reported on this thread. But this one is pleasantly different. The HEH is embossed on side of body! Only one i've ever seen. It was owned by a good friend of mine from Windsor, Ontario. Well I traded him out of it about six years ago, then traded it back to him about 2 years ago. So it now resides in Windsor, Ontario once again and I sorely wish I had it back. But my buddy won't budge. Well here it is for what it is worth...Dano

This came in the mail today (thanks Miguel) and it is your basic m1917 German egg grenade but with a different base marking that I added to list in post 1. It is hard to see from my pic but it has C7 on the base...Dano

Yes Miguel, I think new glasses and maybe a new camera too! I don't understand why my reading glasses fail me. I get the finest that 1.00us can buy! I get them at the "Dollar Tree" store (try 'em on yourself), maybe I need a real eye doctor. Not as bad as my dads story about many years ago that "Grandpa Pidgeons" a popular general store of the day used to have false teeth in a barrel. 3.95us a pair, try 'em on yourself!...Dano

Yes Miguel 1$ glasses (reading glasses) ranging from 1.00x to 3.50x. You just try them on until you can read something! And believe it or not they last about a year unless you're like me and lose them first. I didn't get your new business card but would like one as I kind of collect them too!...Dano

Yes Miguel, You were right. I had to go out to the trash can but found the box and your new business card was there. I also found the no hazard inert notification which I also collect. Thanks so much...Dano
