M24 Grenade Restoration

I have attached photo's of my M24 grenade that I have finished restoring. The project started well over a year ago. I had shown some photo's earlier on how I recreated the fuze well. This grenade can was a total mess when I acquired it, no fuze well and rust holes in the top and side of can. I bought the stencil for the "Vor Gebrauch Sprengkapsel Einsetzen" from a French company on the web. Now I see it I may have applied it a little too high on the can, and may redo it. I am happy with the results.Grenade Two.jpgGrenade One.jpgGrenade Three.jpg

Nice job, Mike! Heres one I just did. It was in pretty bad shape ( appearance-wise ) so I thought it no harm/no foul if I tried to refurb it a bit. It will be displayed with a bunch of other '24s (that are original condition) so I really didn't want it to stick out too much. So, I took masking tape & stuck to can in places then removed taking some paint w/it. Next I'll spray a light mist of salt water on it for acouple days to "age it a little. Don't misunderstand, as a general rule I don't refurb originals, but in this case, I thought it best route.

Hi, here's one I restored a few years ago.. this was the first attempt and the can was full of holes and rusty so had nothing to loose,
The handle only needed a light clean and was a spare one I had so thought it would make the M24 look better with a handle the same condition.
Have not done any more due to time,, the lack of time eh.. if we all had time :tinysmile_hmm_t2:.

Regards nick
