M26 Question

Hello. Please excuse my intermittent involvement in these forums. I tend to not have much time (or money) to commit to my small grenade collection until winter time when work is very slow for me. So I pop in from time to time in the winter and I've learned a lot from lurking on these forums. So, thanks for that!

Like a lot of grenade collectors, I've developed a fondness for the American M26 (mostly because I really want one). Having never even touched one, I have a question. What size fuze threads does the M26 body have in it? Does it have threads like the MKII, or like those of the M67? Thanks in advance!

The early M26 and M26A1 types used the same 9/16 thread of the WWII MkII, and were normally fitted with M204 series fuzes. The later M26A2, M56, and similar bodies had 5/8 threads that would accept the M217 impact type fuze and M215 time fuze.
