M2A? Bounding Antipersonnel Mine

Got this at the OVMS SOS this weekend. Not sure how long it was made and can't find any info on the interweb. The cast body is embossed with MINE, ANTI-PERSONNEL M2A- and stenciled on the obverse LOT KOU____?3 6-50. The projectile is stamped M2A4 and LOT 1950. It doesn't match up with pix of the M2A4, so possibly/probably an experimental. If so, I can see why it was short lived. The body itself weighs almost twice that of the projectile and finish boring both the chamber AND the flash tube would have been more time intensive than using the can and tubing that the M2A4 has. An interesting piece, though. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers, Bruce.
