Madsen 20mm query

hi chaps just got a 20mm Madsen case made by Kynoch,in a job lot. just wondered what T2 means in the headstamp?? Cheers Tig.

2 = model

K = Kynoch
ES = Explosive Shell
31 = ? (Cannot be yearcode? Somekind of batch number maybe?)

Looks like a year code to me. The 20mm Madsen was developed in the 1920s and manufactured by Kynoch from 1929, so no reason why not.

The rimmed prototype cases are dated 1926.
