Madsen rims

I just thought I'd post a few photos to show how manufacturers start off with a case then squeeze it into different shapes for different weapons. I chose a few Madsens just to keep you interested.
The 17.8 x 130 is a solid dummy round (overall length 170mm). I've included a bit more info if anyone's puzzled by that one.
The 20 x 119 is one of the reasonably common 20mm's.
The 23 x 106 unfortunately has a dummy projectile in it (has anyone got a spare real projectile:neutral:).
ALL of the rims are 29mm
All INERT etc.

Here's another Madsen, this is the launching cartridge for the 29mm spigot mortar or Blacker Bombard,,,,,,,, Dave.

Not to forget that the original 20mm Madsen was rimmed and then while retaining the head the case above was "blown out" to the rimless shape we know today as the standard 20x120.

Thanks EOD, yes, I'm struggling to find one of those.
Charley as EOD says the main difference is that the original one had a slimmer case above the rim which was also 29mm. When it was "blown out" to make the rimless version the whole case got wider.
Dimensions of the rimmed version are:
Case length 119mm
Rim diameter 29mm
Rim thickness 5.1mm
Headstamp on the line drawing I have is:
F
P
S
28

Dave.

I think the one I had was from 1926 - long gone and I have no photos, was well before my "photo time". There is a drawing in one of Labbetts pamphlets on the 20mm Madsen.
