Hello,

Who knows what the markings means on this cartridge case?

As far as I know this is for the Naval Quick-Firing (Hotchkiss) 3-pr gun.

Length: 376 mm
Diameter on top: 47 mm
Diameter on bottom: 64 mm

As far as I know

RL= Royal Laboratories (Royal Ordnance Factory Woolwich)
N with broad arrow = Naval store
35 = 1935

Is this correct and what are the other markings?

Greetings - Antoon

Found another stamp: the 1 in the circle denoting that the case is fitted with a Mark II (thin) cap.

01 dated (1901). Accepted by a naval inspector on 13/12(?)/1901. Possibly refilled at Woolwich in 1935 (?), although other than the additional F, headstamps generally relate to repair contractors - but W refers to Woolwich as a filling factory?

I agree with Darkman, this case is dated 1901 accepted the 13 12? 01 but w 35 is the lot. Each lot is declined in an alphabet, here lot 35 letter w. Among the british manufacturers RL is the only one to use this system. Some canadian manufacturers use the same ( MAC, DCPC, MLW, CC&F and CPR ) but the letter is after the lot.
I show some 18 Pr II made by RL of my collection:
Acceptance 10 12 14 lot D 46
" 3 1 15 lot L 47
" 6 1 15 lot O 47
" 26 2 15 lot H 50
