I bought this example to place in a decorated casing, it appears to have remains of nickle plating on the body (after cleaning it didn't).
But it's never that simple and after not really paying much attention to it until I got it home I then noticed the markings.
It's marked Just M - a simple M compared to what I think is an earlier version. So is this a pre Maxim Nordenfelt
Maxim Gun Company example (which is what I think it must be) ? Does anyone else have one like this ~
Coments welcome - It's been a long time since I've added anything new to the endless study of these ~
(the casing was unmarked as usual)
Consulting the worst two organized books ever written The Devil's Paintbrush and "37mm A gun for all countries" (His gun research is superb and in order)
I found this page and a reference to this projectile. So there is another example known, so there must be others. Check out your local hoarders - I did ~
Note; "Serifed M on the Base" What does this mean, so I looked it up, well I think he's refering to my other M marked projectile which I likely sent him an image of at some time in the past - if so now two differnt M marks ~ I'm not really helping myself am I
Does any one know if there is a Spell Check on this site - I need all the help I can get !
