Hello all....not strictly ordnance related, but I hope someone can help. Is there some trick/lever to push that allows the rear sight on the MG to be raised ? I have a rusty old one that I am trying to stabilise and can't get the sight up. I don't mean the range marked slider, it's the whole, flip up sight. Thanks in anticipation..Matt
 
Just checked mine, there is a spring loaded detent that has to be overcome while flipping it up, looks like it would rust solid given the chance.
 
Many thanks for the info....I'll get out some more WD 40 and try to free it up.
