Personally I prefer the term uncommon rather than rare. Most were made in large numbers.

I'm guessing 5/15 is about as early as they get?

No, 4/15 is the earliest. Mills prototypes before April 1915 had undated base plugs.

Much tidier than my collection Dave. I keep mine in the 'Just in Case' boxes that hold 50 plugs per box.
