Don't remember off the top of my head, but I believe it was a Russian training mine loaded with chloropicrin - a fairly stout gas a little less potent than phosgene, but still commanding respect. Need some books to be sure. Perhaps Peteblight has a good reference nearby?

I'm pretty sure it's a Mo-11.
A Russian chemical filled training mine.
Filled, as Jeff says with either chloropicrin or chloracetophenone.

Does it have liquid sloshing about inside it? ;-)
