Missing Minenwerfer

There has been an unlawful removal of a 7.6cm Minenwerfer from an ANZAC memorial in Murray Bridge South Australia.

The serial number is 25834, it is painted Brunswick green, has no trail or wheels.

It went missing between Mon 22 April & Tues 23 April 2013.

The local branch of RSL (Returned & Soldiers League) would very much like it back.

If anyone in Australia knows of its whereabouts or is offered this item please contact SAPOL or Murray Bridge RSL Club.

I have posted a pic of what one looks like (this is not the exact one) so people know what to look for.

This is not a very nice thing to happen 3 days before ANZAC day remembrance ceremonies!

Regards Ozzi.

Hope the Police catch them before the locals do!! Well actually no I don't, hope they get the shit beat out of them first!

Hi Ozzi,Ditto what 25thapril said, how low can people sink, these memorials honour the courage and sacrifice made by the ANZACS,fighting for freedom, this same freedom is enjoyed by the knuckledraggers and retards that stole/unlawfully removed the minenwerfer,b*st*rds,
I hope it is returned unharmed,
Don,

I have just seen a news report that it has been found abandoned on the side of the road in Adelaide . Hopefully it hasn't been damaged to much and it can be returned to where it belongs asap.

Howdy All,

As 25thapril has mentioned, I was informed @ about 1530 on 25/04/13 that the missing Minenwerfer has been found & recovered on a dirt back road about 8-10km South West of Murray Bridge. No mention of any damage.

It has been returned to the RSL under Police escort & will be BOLTED down.

The return has been reported by all the major South Australian News channels.

A happy ending.

Thanks to all for your supportive comments.

Regards Ozzi.

Good to hear the minenwerfer has been returned. A pitty to hear monuments have to be bolted down to avoid them from getting stolen.
