MKII Aluminum Body

I bought this yesterday at a gunshow.It's un-threaded.I found one site on the internet that mentions aluminum MKII's but the picture they have doesn't look like this one.Any ideas on who made or when this was made.Interesting no matter the origin.

Often college engineering classes in shop will have projects in casting. { would guess this is one of them.

The US did experiment with aluminum bodies for the Mk. II. Whether this is one of them, I cannot say.
