Muzzle brake/flash hider

I have been tasked to I.D this piece, the threaded end is OD 55mm and the thread diameter is 40.5mm, i dont know what the thread is,mm or Imperial, the length of the piece is 280mm,the wide end is 82mm diameter,can anyone supply any mor info on the piece, i have come to a dead end with it and it is not my field.
the green bag that contains the piece has inks on it ( hard to read) the stamp on the piece is shown in one of the pics Thanks

(1) Subject to any exemption under this Act, it is an offence for a person to have in their possession a relevant accessory unless the person holds a firearm certificate or a shot gun certificate.

(2) “Relevant accessory” means an accessory to a firearm to which section 1 applies which is designed or adapted to diminish the noise or flash caused by firing the firearm.”

The stamps appear to show a type of "broad arrow", and the ED monogram of Enfield. What is the diameter of the exit hole?

The long number 1005-99-963-0516 is the NSN (NATO Stock Number). I just put this into the search engines and returned the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) reference FL17141. Description is Flash Hider for 30mm RARDEN autocannon. Confirms Tim's reply.

An update from the firearms side of things - moderators are no longer held on tickets. Can't imagine muzzle brakes are either, and there is normally some common sense applied on the difference between small arms use and what are clearly not portable weapons! As a RARDEN is not a Section 1 firearm, this is then not a relevant accessory. If in doubt, get in touch with your local firearms department.

Section 2A Firearms Act 1968 came into effect, courtesy of Section 44, Crime and Policing Act 2026, on 29th June 2026.

Whilst sound moderators and flash suppressors are no longer required to be listed on an FAC, one still needs an FAC to possess them. Muzzle brakes are not mentioned, the article in question is a flash hider/suppressor.

Common sense and discretion no longer exist in today's police forces, especially where firearms are concerned, furthermore there is no conformity between forces in relation to firearms.

Whilst a fully functioning RARDEN canon would fall under the definition of a Section 5 firearm, first and foremost it is a Section 1 firearm.
