my first discus grenade

Thanks mate . .was a bit of a problem trying to work out which model it was as i couldnt find any info on sizes and markings .Cheers .
 
well done on an excellent restoration. sometimes they had a circular paper label glued on the side saying " vor gebrauch sprengkapsel einsetzen" before use insert the detonator.

cheers guys :) .does anyone have a pic of the label?. think im going to try and reproduce one . .just need a clear pic and sizes.

Darrol. The paper labels were n't always the same size but about 2" is average. Mike.

Darrol if your after making it look aged i tried a little test last week to make an aged internal diagram of a WW1 stick grenade to display with some i got recently. All i did was print the diagram on white paper placed it in a baking tray and poured over half a cup of well mashed tea with no milk in. I then put it in the oven on full temp until the fluid had evaporated. The results were better than i expected it looked quite good and has fooled a few people. Just keep an eye on it when in the oven as it may catch fire if left.

hi mick . thanks for the advice:) .im quite good at aging stuff already . .made a few old parchment papers for a friend and treasure maps for my kids . . .its the printing thats the hard part as i havent got a printer .:)
