I've had this flare for a few years now. It had a fresh paint job when received, which was professionally removed, leaving the dark brown finish and remnants of markings. Looks like maybe an old shellac finish. It has laid on a shelf for the bulk of the time, being moved here and there as display options changed. It always had a little rattle when shaken. The nose cone appeared depressed into the case, so I started messing with it. The surprise is what's inside. Generally, I don't mess with restoring anything. A light cleaning with a touch of oil and it goes on the shelf. Guessing I'll mount this in its disected glory. Fabricate some missing pieces and let 'er bump. The internal/launch can is stuck inside and can hopefully be extracted after a good soaking. Any ideas or suggestions in this "restoration" will be graciously received.

OK. I just stuffed everything back inside(real nice, like) and put it back on a shelf. And just how rare is this? Gotta figure, if I have one, it can't be real rare. Maybe this thread will generate some pics from other collections. The only others I have seen are on Lex's site, come to think of it. Where I got the abbreviated title.

Hey Rick, its so rare in fact, that I think you need to fire up the bench grinder and wire wheel it to a high polish. And then make sure you handle it often with greasy hands and store it out in the hut where it can experience the harshest extreams in temperature and humidity as possible. And lastly, this modle grenade makes thee most awesome dogs fetch toy ever made.Especially with the chute pulled out :)

Oh and I forgot to mention too,the chute makes for a great emergency snot rag,in case, well, you know......
