Hi, picked this up today. Not even sure its ordnance!
Made of brass 136mm across, 16mm deep. Threads to the side and the 'plug'.

Seller said it was from a rodded anti submarine weapon, maybe from a type F depth charge????
Any ideas guys?

It could be possible that it is a thread/fuze protector for the hedgehog??
Whilst trying to find a photo with some form of resemblence I came across this interesting video posted on youtube...
whilst not identifying the piece in question, its interesting to see the loading and firing of hedgehog

Hedgehog was not introduced until about 1942.

Q is that definitely an 'O' and not a 'D'?

Hi Tim, it could well be a 'D' rather than a 'O'.

IF the vender was correct and its a (WW1) rodded A/S weapon could it have been fired from this?

curiously there is no obvious spannering features to screw the piece into whatever, is this a clue?
