NATO ammo can markings and symbols

Having messed with these things for years, it's odd I never paid ANY attention to the markings and symbols on ammo cans. I was mostly interested in the listed caliber and the varieties in that.
Was perusing the IAA forum and ran across this list posted by ron3350(Thanks RON). I will now be out checking the remaining containers for any of these markings and make note thereof.

On cans for ball and ap M1 Service Rifle (Garand), the stencil is like looking at the top of the clip, eight dots in parentheses. M1 Carbine and M16 ammo in clips show a line of ten dots in a rectangle, etc.. They made those symbols for us Jarheads since we can't read:tongue: Cheers, Bruce.
