Naval fuze ID British.

Why do you think it's a base fuze ?
Without other details, I only see a shell head brass adapter with a transit plug and maybe the bottom of a HE gaine.

I’am asking because i’m not sure. The U.S. Neptune base fuze looked some what like this one. I can read the top No 3 and a canceling Mark though the III mark. I think also a PH mark for Pretty’s Hard. It was fished out of the sea and went overboard again (only have been send these pics) I would like to know what fuze it is. But this is not my field and standing by to be corrected. Not asking is not knowing.
