Nb.Hgr.39 Smoke Grenade End Cap

Is it true that the very early Hgr.39's, the ones without the ribbed handle, had end caps with wings on them, so you could tell what they were in the dark. The wings were not on the bottom of the cap, like the winter caps, but up at the open end.

i have seen early matching smoke M39 grens without the ribbed handles and with on top winged screwing caps...unfortunally i have no pics

No difference to the standard StHgr.24 handle here for the earliest NbHgr.39!
