Need Help on WWII German Stick Grenade

I have recently acquired a German stick grenade the faint markings on the handle are "42 duk". It is a bit rusty, but solid with no holes. I would like to restore it and wondering what the color would be for that year. I see alot that are black, but this one seems to have been painted a dark field gray. Could someone tell me what color it should be, and how I could match the paint?

but are you sure about the manufacturer "duk" (Telefunken Gesellschaft fr drahtlose Telegraphie mbH, Neuhaus/Thringen), producing radar-tecnology?

"dbk" (the old famous Richard Rinker Co.) would make more sense.

Do you have any pics of your grenade to post?

If it's not too bad, I would not repaint the grenade, they loose all their history, and also collector value.
