Hello This is my sons he bought it at our last show. He was told it was a grape shot that was outlawed by doctors at that time because it made to bad of a wound. Does anyone know anything about it.
Could it be a ball from a grist mill type machine? Some used large metal balls instead of a rotating stone, often confused with cannon balls. Being that big its one hell of a piece of canister shot!
No I don't thank its from a mill The casting is high quality .I told my son I didn't think it had anything to do with artillery , but he said he found some info on it about Doctors complaining about the wounds .
