need help with poss 1pdr/37mm

hi all im not exactly sure what it is i have!it is approx 110mm long, and approx 34mm diamiter there are no markings on the body and it is silver in colour.there is a 3mm wide groove around the bottom 7mm from the base.on the base it is stamped edinburgh J.AB. 1915any help would be great.cheers john.

It is most probably a home made war memorabilia. Shape and diameter are very unusual for a real projectile. The letters and drillings on the bottom are very inaccurate too.
 
Thanks for that, but im inclined to dissagree, its hollow and with a screw base which doesnt fit with that sugestion if it was home made i would expect it to be a solid machined piece of metal, i also have a 3inch example exactly the same which would lead me to the conclusion it is some sort of drill round?
 
sorry my mistake i mennt 3pdr, im thinking some sort of inspection / gauge round due to the lack of driving band?
