New Generation Hand Grenade !

That looks interesting. I wonder how it's done. I discern 2 small explosions on the ground and the big one in the air. The body containing the burster-bomblet has to be oriented somehow, so that the burster-bomblet is thrown vertically upwards. There have been designs, like mortar bombs, since the 2.WW, but these projectiles are more easy to orient.

Thanks for the links spotter. Now I understand. It works similar to the british HB 876 mine. The first pyrotechnic charge shoots of the fuze which is holding the steelspring tentacles with its plastic collar, after a delay, to let the spring momentum settle, the 2nd pyrotechnic charge shoots the bomblet upwards. An interesting design. I wonder, if the fixed delay will always be sufficient for all spring momentum to have died down, as these springs have, by design, to be very "springy".
