Three new items today, A No 36 Mk1 dated 1970 in mint condition.
A No 34 Mk 3 drill, in ok condition (its not as bad as it looks in the pic) to restore or not ?
And finally an Italian OD 82-E-1 practice grenade in mint condition dated 1991.
I have not bought any grenades for ages and then get three on the same day !

Tony.

they look familiar

Hey Tony,

Nice grenades, were they from Farnham? I was looking at a No.34 there this morning that looked the same :)

Ben.

Yes Ben, they did come from Farnham ! the No 34 caught my eye as it will clean up nicely and it is all there. I suppose you saw all the other grens the same Guy had ? a couple of nice pieces in that lot. Tony.

Paul, there is a black ink stamp on the yellow band, I can't make it out but it has the broad arrow and four numbers or letters. There is also a smudged white stamp above the filler screw which is painted maroon. It even has waterproofing compound around the plunger. The only negative is that the filler screw is slightly damaged and has a hole drilled in it. Tony.

yup

Yes he had quite a few nice pieces, including a No.2 and couple of nice rodded rifle grenades. Those three were bit too pricey for me though.

Tony,

does the hole go all the way through the filler?
I have seen piccys of 1970 grens that look the same but could not tell if the hole went right through. Maybe they all came from the same batch that was deactivated.
Still very nice though.

Andy

Someone bought the No2 while I was standing there, the others were a No 20 and a No 35, I think they were all about 225 each. The No 34 I bought was much less.

The No2 was 200, I was there when he bought it so we must have been stood either side of him :). To me it was worth more than the other two. I bought a No20 from Farnham a few months back for 38 :)

It sure is a small world eh ?
A No 20 for 38 ? was a dug one or better condition ?

Thanks Dano, I think I will soak it in penetrating oil for a few days and see what it looks like when it comes out.
