Hi Guys, and greetings from New Zealand, and also a thank-you to all of you whom already helped me HEAPS and gave me very good pointers.

To make a long story short, sold most of my collection 6 years ago, as needed the funds, yet to a good friend of mine.

Last night "traded" with him and got five of my prized posessions back, and will never let them slip through my fingers again:wink:
These are:
1. My 1971 Dutch V40
2. My 1971 M26A2 Australian Lemon with frag coil and base cap
3. My 1975 M57 with matching can
4. My M34(The plain green one), as that is a steel body thats been "undented" and hole filled up
5. My MkII

Feel free to comment on incorrect Fuzez or Spoons!

Thanks to Justin I also have a German DM51 on its way, plus
a Yugo M75 I bought last week on Specialistauctions.

Yes, Gentlemen, I realise I will certainly need to focus on ONE area, yet still deciding WHICH one)

For now, I am just contently staring at them:)

Some nice items there Shorty. Your M57 is in fact an M67. The M57 is a Lemon with the M217 Impact fuze. You also need an M213 fuze for the M67 as I mentioned before. Other than that, some really nice items! Welcome back to the club!

Welcome back to this great site again. The routine is still the same. and we aim to please.

Love those WP's. Also, what type of "Bouchon" igniters do you have there on a couple of grenades. Those with the strange spoons? Where are they from?

Also, as far as deciding on what type, war, period, country, or anything else I can think of at the moment don't. You got all the time in the world.

Theshort,

When you say that one should concentrate on one area, do you mean one area like ordnance instead of all the unimportant other crap that isn't ordnance or weapons related?

Very nice collection by-the-way.

Dear Hazord

Thanks for your kind comment on my tiny little "start-up" collection, much appreciated.

I believe one should concentrate on whatever "does it for you".

Some people collect teapoons, others stamps, and I am sure they get the same "kick" out of it as what I do when holding a grenade and thinking "Wish you could tell me your story".

I once again apologise for wrong descriptions etc, but am willing to learn from all the great expertise this site offers.

Happy Ordnance Hunting, and thanks for your post!

Much appreciated, its a small start, and I realise its a lifelong bug that has highly likely bitten. By the way, should you turn down any M67 marked grenades from Justin, PLEASE throw them my way:tinysmile_twink_t2:

Hi Mark, and thanks for the wise words of advice! I think our learned friend Justin can comment on those strange spoons. If it is this one you are refering too(As a Newbie, I have no clue what a "Bouchon" is, but will Google and learn after)

Both my M67 and the Korean K400 has same fuze, and here is a photo of the markings.

Thanks again for the advice!

Shorty, when someone says Bouchon, they are referring to the fuze body.

Mark, the fuzes on his M67 and and K400 are K402 fuzes. They are Korean and are issued with the K400. I believe this same fuze is also issued with the K413 lightweight hand grenade, which went into production in S. Korea following it's development in the General Dynamics JLG(Joint Lightweight Grenade) program between the US and S. Korea.

Justin,

It is the action of the fuse that makes it a Bouchon or not. Just about everyone around the world now uses that style instead of a string/wire pull fuse anymore with exceptions such as some Chemical grenades. So, if you have a fuse that has a handle/spoon, hammer with attached firing pin, spring mechanism, and pull pin it can be called a "Bouchon" igniter. If it does not have these things then it is not the bouchon type igniter and can be called something else.

Bouchon is basically your "Mouse Trap" type of fuse.

Hey, I learn something new from almost everybody here with a couple of "bad" hombres.

You have also taught me some other things.

I guess the bottom line is that we definately learn something new everytime we log on, that is at least I do? How about you Bro.

Absolutely Mark. I had a pretty good knowledge base before I found BOCN, but have learned so much since joining! It's nice to know I have helped you as well. Thanks again!

Dear Mark and Justin, I learn EVERY day, and thanks for sharing your invaluable knowledge.

Never again will I need to ask "What is a Bouchon?"!

Happy Gren Hunting this weekend!
