New No 20 rifle grenade

MG34NZ

Well-Known Member
I found this at the last show I attended and after mulling it over decided to bring it home, Its got great paint but has some damage to the body and the rod is an obvious replacement, still a nice WWI grenade all the same. Anyone have the missing brass bits out of the end laying arouund in a box of bits??
I would love to make this one a little more complete using period parts if possiable but if all else fails I will machine up some bits on the lathe.
can some one enlighten me as to the length of an original rod?
Thank you and best regards

Andrew....good buggers us Andys:top:

My pleasure bud,
dont know if you allow for the thread on the end? My judgement is that the length of the rod should be 10 ins once fully screwed into the gren body. However, a forum expert may know better.

heres a manufacturers pic of the top plug with measurements. the rod should be 10.23 inches including threads.paul
