G'day all,

I have for your viewing an unknown brass object, a No.17 ?????.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what it is?
The undamaged one was found near a WW2 airstrip in Northern Australia, the damaged one came from an old training & demo area near by.
Construction is of solid brass, with slight traces of red paint still present.No.17 Impact Specimen.JPGNo.17.JPGNo.17 base markings.JPGNo.17 Drg.jpg

Cheers,

50Cal.

No clue what it is, but VAEL (Vickers Armstrong Engineering Ltd.) tells us UK manufacture.

The first image appears to be a shaped charge slug.

Hi,

Apparently 60Lb rockets were fired at the training area, so you may be onto something....

Thanks
