No 243 fuze

I am wondering if the No243 fuze for the 2pdr HV was painted a colour or was it left shiney aluminum colour

They were varnished/lacquered blue - using RD 1177. There is quite a variety in shades, wartime tends to be lighter, bordering on turquoise.

Here are Australian 2Pr Vickers with original paint and No243 Fuzes from 1945. I call it green?
