no.69s on Worldwide Arms site

Hi Batonroundcollector what ive heard and found with WWA is they use the word pattern when selling repro gear. A good example is their stick grenades. They had a large box full of 69s at war and peace which looked ok and theres no mention of pattern or copy on the web advert. Not sure if they had internal parts i suspect not. Hope this helps. Mick.

a good few years ago someone dug up hundreds of unfinished 69's at the bottom of their garden, could be some of these.
paul.

so guess these were never finished - from stores/factory stock?

A complete one with ORIGINAL markings would make between 80-100 these days . As Paul said , there were hundreds of half complete ones found many years ago & these turn up from time to time . I have a few myself & always keep them hoping to find the missing parts but , of course , they don't have the filling bands on them .

batonroundcollector i have a No69 in my collection but is not complete. Externally it looks complete but the internal parts are missing i bought it off specialist auctions about a year ago i think i paid about 35 for it. I also recently got the lead weight off the arming tape but that came with some mills parts again off specialist auctions. I will post a picture tomorrow.

The collection from the bottom of the garden was reported to the police and the army came along and took them away and no doubt blew them all up......

Luckily enough thy was thrown in a skip, i had to bin liners full of them, all gone now there was a young lad that went to the owner of the said garden and dug a large amount out which is where i suspect these ones have come from,,,,,,,, Dave

I have not seen many Dutch ones around for a number of years John but i could be wrong,,,,,,,, Dave

Went into the loft today to get my No69 out to take some pics and had a bit of a result. I found it did have a lump of metal in the fuse. i cleaned it up and managed to strip it to reveal the striker spring and a fired cap/primer. Ive now got a big smile on my face and owe it all to you batonroundcollector hope you like the pics.
