Hi all,
It's not often I get to post something that I think is really nice, but today things have changed. I picked up a really nice No20Mk1 grenade. I think it's a cracker, but its missing its striker. Can anyone help me with this? So annoying as got shot of two strikers a few years ago :tinysmile_angry2_t: !!
Also a strange Mills thing turned up with it from the same guy. Both came from his family. I'm no expert at all on grenades, I'm sure someone can give me an idea. It looks like some kind of mills predecessor?? No ears on top and no sign of them either. Casting is a bit uneven, no thread on base just the large hole as on a mills. Is it a fake or is it something more interesting?? I've seen something similar in the past but for the life of me I can't remember. Please see photos above:

look forward to your comments.

Cheers,
Clive

Nice one, thanks mate. Still a little a bit unsure exactly what it is. Could be one of the engineers specials as mentioned, could be like Andy mentioned. I will have to get my vernier out and stick up some measurements.
Thanks again mate.

Nice looking grens bud.

Here is a similar gren body i have in my collection, maybe from WW1, could be WW2, just dont know. Anyway, i have a spare striker/det pin plus spring or whatever you call it, made in brass for a No 20. You are more than welcome to it.

Andy

Hi Paul,
Very interesting. Yes please do, I'd like to see it if you find it mate. Both have gone to new homes now, but I'm still interested in any info on this or the No20.
thanks Paul.

Clive
