Alan, Can I say GREAT job! By the way, all of my worn out grenades(INERT) can I send them to you for a cut away?

The 390 in the posts above was 1 of 2 i received the other was a proper mess heavily scraped and discoloured and i thought beyond use, using a new cap which i got via bocn classifieds ive managed to salvage it as a cutaway

Dave.

I was wondering ... were there any other versions past the MK 3 on the NO 390 fuzes? I haven't seen any and was looking at pictures of some of the different variant, and they all stopped at the 3.

Fuze No.390 Mk.5

Hello All,
I realise that this post isn't about a cutaway but I thought that I'd show a few pics of a No.390 Mk.5 fuze that I've had for a while & fitted to a 4.5" Mk.8 starshell I have in my heavies collection.
It's been fired & the aluminium nose cap is a little corroded but there is still enough of the turquois colouring & the description with red paint applied to the lettering to be able to make out what it is.
The top two rings have BN stamped in them & diametrically opposite that is the figure 18. The lower ring with the graduations from 1 to 30 also has BN 65 ET on one side & 18 CY 1/66 on the other; the base plug also has 18 stamped into it.
The centre ring is free to rotate but the fuze doesn't come apart; am guessing it's corroded up inside.
Hope it's of some interest.
Regards,
Ian.390 (1).JPG390 (2).JPG390 (3).JPG390 (4).JPG390 (5).JPG
