No5 Mk1 Base Plug

My usual interest is small arms but I've recently been given a base plug from a No5 Mk1 grenade. The markings are:

N[SUP]o[/SUP]5.M[SUP]k[/SUP]1 (at 12 o'clock) - the "o" and "k" aren't quite as high but it's as close as I can get it!

2/16 (centre)

C.A.V inside an oval marking (at 6 o'clock)​

Could someone confirm the C.A.V marking which I'm presuming is the manufacturer
