Nose cone from "75mm" or something of that nature ~

I obtained this inserted into a fired French 75 body.
It is loose fitting so for a projectile of a similar nature but not
a French shrapnel. The fuze from a 75 HE is a bit to large to fit.
Can any one recognize it ? I haven't any idea.
