Number 3 on a rope

I never realised they made a rope tailed version of the number 3

Hale had them in his shop window - see attached. Perhaps swinging them around actually made the wind vanes release properly.

Incredibly two of those three rifles still exist. The MLE marked Cotton Powder Company and the SMLE marked R&A. I know the collector who has them.
