NVA/VC grenade purchase

Hello all. I just picked this up this past weekend. This is a NVA/VC frag grenade with what seems to be a soviet fuze and probably North Vietnamese made body. It's crudely cast with traces of gloss black paint. On the side of the fuze has the letters "GAI" and on the front several numbers "6 (or letter "G") a "-" (Dash), an obsured/unreadable single number and the number "64". I am guessing this string of numbers might be a date. The grenade was obtained by the vet during his 1963 to 1967 tour so maybe the last number "64" could mean 1964 but I don't know. I am unfamiliar with the markings on NVA or Russian or Chicom ordnance/fuzes. This grenade was found fashioned booby trap style with trip wire. It was removed and a US grenade pullpin was inserted. The SeaBee vet obtained the grenade from a Marine. Great stuff!


Any thoughts or comments are welcome! I don't know Russian/NVA or ChiCom stuff.

this is a basic NVA/VC grenade= that fuze is pretty standard in those grenades definitely not a Soviet fuze
 
branching out was always an indication of reverse action fuze (BT) taught in grenades Ground Ordnance at the school house. Was also exactly like the one I had in my collection. I'll look got my. old pictures
