Odd 2 pdr sized case without stamps

The casing looked like a 2 pdr at first glance but has a wider and heavier rim 50 mm vs 48mm, walls are also thicker. No stamps or markings I can find






Any insites would be appreciated

This looks like an unfinished 2Pr case as you guessed with the primer hole not drilled through and the rim too thick.
I have found 3 of these cases over the years. Hard to tell if the primer hole is threaded or not.

Thanks, that makes sense. There is what looks like a cap screwed over the primer hole on the inside or could be extra material to be milled off after threading I guess
