Odd flechette type pieces

Hello!
I was offered these today, unfortunately this is the only picture I have of them. To me these look much like vietnam-era "lazy-dogs" but much longer. They are pictured next to a .50 for size comparison. I've never seen any like this before. I was looking for some opinions, real, fake? Would be an interesting piece for the collection. Thanks very much,

EDIT: Just found out they are made of lead, and he has other that are made of brass but the gent doesnt know if they are real or not

Thats what one of my thoughts was. He said he got them at a flea market, made of lead and painted white. Guessing no-one has seen anything like this? If so I'm gonna go with these are not ordnance, something homemade or for models.
