A friend has an odd looking round. Looks like a U.S. 3 inch 50 but with a long projectile. He thinks the top half looks Navy and the bottom looks like Army artillery. He put it next to a 1950s dated round he calls standard. He did some repainting based on faded original paint. Any ideas?
Looks like a shrapnel round with a navy projo spitballed on. Does not look original or correct to me, but it would take close examination to know for sure.
