OF1 Question

Rifleman2

Active Member
I picked this OF1 up yesterday mainly for the fuse assembly. The body is painted an odd combination of colors. Also the spoon has a cut out in it I haven't seen before.I know that it was made that way to make putting the spoon on over the plunger easier.Does this body look correct? When (Date)did the cut out in the spoon start?

Thanks for your help

I don't know when the OFI was made obsolete but it could be a post WW1 change. It looks like a vent for the primer

They were still using the OFi at the start of WW2 but usually with a Mle 35 fuze . That blue & black colour is found on DF grenades so may have also been used on OFi's but I've never seen one .
