One pounder type, HE projectile.

DEADLINE222

Well-Known Member
I apologize for the poor image.

And I also apologize for seeking help in identification, but my research into projectile of this variety has found it's way to the realm of "I forgot".

The rotating band-less, 37mm projectile is 5 - 3/8" in length.

The base, fuze well is 1 - 1/6 diameter with left hand threads.

There are positively no markings or stampings of any kind.

I have conducted many searches for one pounder sub caliber cartridges, but nothing has come up.

Thanks in advance.

1.7pr Mkll

Looks like a 1.7pr Mkll, markings other than a U.S. bomb proof (which might be faint) are on the
brass base and fuze holder.Case is this type 37x145 or the short version of same.
1918 era subcaliber.

Yep.

I was looking at your amazing 37mm guide, but for some reason earlier it never loaded the majority of the images in the "Everything Else" category.

I knew I had seen this one some place!

Thanks.
