Could someone kindly tell me what this container was for ? It may not even be ordnance but it's certainly military issue & measures 7.5" x 21" . Thank you !

John . It just says undo the clips to release the vacuum . I suppose it's just a large vacuum flask really . Mike

John this is a food container, Andy identified it in the second post.
I have seen smaller ones of these too, which were identical in manufacture.
