Nah,they are metal,green,have a red rubber gasket ring and have a electrical clip connector......do see where your coming from though Hangerman and think you are on the right track with tank discharged grenade of some sort.............have seen one of these but can't place it

PS..white would suggest flare or para illum flare of some kind?

It's made of metal with a wooden disc inside on top of a rubber washer . There would appear to be parts missing from the base that could have been an electrical connector . Does anyone have a picture of the para/illum version of this grenade ? Thanks for all your replies. Mike
