Attached photo shows a round called ffv 597 developed by ffv (now bofors)
I think the round was ready for production in the late 80:s .
The penetration was approx 900mm .
I know there were tests in some countries but as far as i know it was never adopted anywhere. Is there anybody that knows more about this extreme round?

Can't help you with the information on this one rottenfuhrer but that's a very impressive round, never seen one of them before. Thanks for showing it.

I believe the video above shows that round (although the video itself is a bit campy; it ends by showing the perspective of both the 84mm gunner and the view from inside the doomed tank).

The video seems to confirm that the round has a polymer "slipper" band to intentionally avoid the rifling's spin; this seems to be the opposite of a regular "driving band". Do all polymer 84mm bands serve that purpose?

At any rate, 900mm of penetration is rather impressive!
